Could you try a current minimal-install-iso and report your results with it? This happens to me, too, with the 10.1 LiveDVD. When it gets stuck, I can alt-F1 to switch to console, then "/etc/init.d/xdm restart", after which it loads XDM and everything else seems to work properly. I have Core i7 920 (4 cores + hyperthreading) 12GB of RAM 11TB of storage Geforce GT240 (1 GB VideoRAM) (In reply to comment #2) > This happens to me, too, with the 10.1 LiveDVD. I have a feeling it's trying to load the fbdev driver instead of the nv driver the first time around. Also please let me know if booting with 'gentoo nox' then manually starting xdm works for you. closing as no activity from reporter. |
