please emerge -u gnome-utils && emerge gnome. gucharmap is provided in gnome-utils versions < late 2.3 series. nope, this isnt a portage or RDEPEND problem, it's the correct behaviour. emerge -u gnome-utils && emerge -p gnome Calculating dependencies ...done! >>> Auto-cleaning packages ... >>> No outdated packages were found on your system. * GNU info directory index is up-to-date. These are the packages that I would merge, in order: Calculating dependencies ...done! [ebuild N ] gnome-extra/gcalctool-4.3.3 [blocks B ] <gnome-extra/gnome-utils-2.3 (from pkg gnome-extra/gucharmap-1.0.0) [ebuild N ] gnome-extra/gucharmap-1.0.0 [ebuild N ] app-text/gpdf-0.110 [ebuild N ] gnome-extra/zenity-1.6 [ebuild U ] x11-base/xfree-4.3.0-r3 [4.3.0-r2] [ebuild U ] x11-libs/gtk+-2.2.4-r1 [2.2.1-r1] [ebuild N ] gnome-extra/nautilus-cd-burner-0.5.3 [ebuild U ] gnome-extra/gnome-games-2.4.0 [2.2.1] [ebuild N ] net-www/epiphany-1.0 [ebuild U ] gnome-base/gnome-2.4 [2.2.2-r1] doesn't look like correct behavior...did you mean emerge -C gnome-utils? I have already tried that. what version of gnome-utils do you have installed now ? It's working fine now...I had 2 versions and had to unmerge the old 1.4.x version also. ahh, having a 1.4 version around would be it. but they're not slotted, so i'm not sure how you had multiple versions around. anyway, it's fixed now you say. then why dont you close it obz ? as said it isnt slotted, so this shouldn't have happened :) it's a paradox closing invalid cause it doesn't seem to be reproducable. |
