Bug 305735 – games-strategy/widelands requires media-libs/jpeg-7*

After updating media-libs/jpeg to 8 Widelands didn't start anymore, when trying from a console I got:
WARNING: Could not open pics/splash.jpg: [src/graphic/graphic.cc:67] Failed loading libjpeg.so.7: libjpeg.so.7: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
Speicherzugriffsfehler

Seems that libjpeg.so.7 is hardcoded - at first I tried reemerging Widelands (without having jpeg-7* installed), compiled&installed fine, but same problem when trying to run it. I unmasked media-libs/jpeg-7-r1 and installed it (thanks to slotted packages), that works for me now.
Seems that either a patch for widelands is needed, or =media-libs/jpeg-7* as dependency?

i dont think the error is coming from widelands.  run `revdep-rebuild` like normal to find the broken package.  or it might be Bug 305403.

revdep-rebuild didn't help (checked that at first, now again to be sure), but reemerging media-libs/sdl-image-1.2.10 worked - yes, thats Bug 305403.
