During src_install, I was getting the following sandbox violoation:

chmod:     /kdebase-3.1.4/image/usr/kde/3.1/share/fonts/override/fonts.dir

I traced this back to a line that runs mkfontdir in kcontrol/input/Makefile. Commenting this line got rid of the error message. I'll attach a patch against the Makefile, but it is really just my quick hack to get things working. I'm not knowledgable enough about sandbox at this point to know how to best fix the actual problem. I also have no explaination for why no one else seems to be getting this error, so there could be more (or less :) here than meets the eye.
