1/ Taking into account hp-check complaint about the missing snmp required dependency and despite I do not use network printing, I rebuilt hplip +snmp 2/ I no longer tried to setup the printer as advised. (i.e. running hp-setup as root => hp-setup -i on the console) nor via http://localhost:631/ but as user (lpadmin && lp groups member) via the hp-toolbox. 3/ As I had read some similar issue on some ubuntu list that had been solved via some /etc/udev/rules.d/55-hpmud.rules I did the suggested correcting action (despite it was associated with a much older hplip version. The problem no longer occurs. I apologize for not being able to at least state which action has been decisive and for not having means to produce more valuable debugging information about this issue. Members of the Printing Team, please, feel free to close / invalid it. Regards Hm, why are maintainers not on CC? Okay I am closing this now as invalid. If the problem appears again feel free to re-open the bug. Funny. I had similar problems after installing the printer via localhost:631: On the first try, the printer printed a few lines and stopped with the log message: hp[4062]: io/hpmud/musb.c 601: invalid usb_open: Permission denied kernel: usblp0: removed When re-starting the printer, the page was ejected and the job started again, this time it worked. Now I re-installed the printer via hp-setup and it seems to work.(hplip-3.10.2-r4) |
