Confirm. Plasma also freezes here when adding the widget to the desktop. Confirmed, however plasma was working for me for a while with the comic plasmoid from my KDE 4.3.5 config. I don't believe the problem started until I modified my desktop configuration (moved the task-panel to the bottom of my screen) at which point the hangups happened. If you have terminal mapped to a keyboard shortcut you can open one up and type: killall -9 plasma-desktop plasma-desktop Oddly this does start plasma with the comic plasmoid. I will look into it later today if nobody else finds anything. Created attachment 219245 [details]

It appears that this is actually a bug with Nepomuk. Unsurprisingly I was messing around with nepomuk the night this crash started for me. I'm curious: Mark & Torsten, are you using virtuoso-2.4.0 as a backend for Akonadi/Nepomuk? Nevermind, soprano is definite at fault. See here: http://soprano.sourceforge.net/node/43 https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=226218 http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=226154 Upgrading to soprano-2.4.0.1 fixes the problem. Will submit a bug to request the bumped ebuild. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 304315 *** |
