USE="hdf5" emerge mathgl results in:

checking hdf5.h usability... no
checking hdf5.h presence... no
checking for hdf5.h... no
Please install hdf5 headers

despite HDF5 being installed

Attaching config.log as it shows the real problem. Emerge --info will follow.

Please note the tracker (bug 302621), I will gradually add new bugs and all of them will concern the same issue. That's why I didn't post log at the beginning.
Science team's been notified already.
