Description Enrico Tagliavini 2010-01-28 17:30:47 UTC
In the new release of x11-drivers/ati-drivers (aka catalyst 10.1) libdri.so is not provided anymore, so the xorg-x11 one should be used. I tried and it runs.... but i *don't know* if this is just a case or this is the right way of make it working, since it is not documented.

Anyway i done a patch that applies against app-admin/eselect-opengl trunk. i will attach it in the first comment.

I will also notify the ati-drivers mantainer (and i will attach the 10.1 ebuild too for him)

NOTE for normal users: this works for me. But no one else has tested it for now. So *use with care* and at *your own risk*. It might break your opengl library.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. install ati-driver-10.1
2. try to start X
3. X will complain about missing libdri.so

Could you try without any libdri.so? Chances are, it doesn't need it at all (like nvidia-drivers)?

Thanks

I need to check and I'm afraid I'll need to update the graphic board... I'm having a quite busy week irl...
