Having error messages in english, a bit more of contextual informations and emerge --info would be nice. In general, you cannot start gnome programs as root (via su) while you are logged in as another user (or any two users, for that matter), since root won't have access to the session bus. Try running using gksu or gksudo instead, as they will try to take care of this (and other issues as well). |
