Hi Martin, If I am not mistaken this is part of atlas' bootstrap procedure and I admit it's confusing. In a nutshell, atlas is trying a whole bunch of different compiler flag options and eliminates the ones that don't work (like utrasparc on x86). Have a look at the *.flg files in ATLAS/tune/blas/gemm/CASES for the kinds of things atlas tries. If you need a more detailed reasoning behind this procedure you please ask upstream. cheers, Markus |
