Description Marcin Deranek 2010-01-24 01:41:48 UTC
When mounted vfat filesystem from USB stick (cp852) using gnome-mount-0.8-r1 I see incorrect Polish characters. Filesystem was mounted as follows:

/dev/sdd1 /media/SDHC vfat rw,nosuid,nodev,noatime,uid=5000,fmask=0022,dmask=0022,codepage=cp852,iocharset=iso8859-2,shortname=lower,flush,errors=remount-ro 0 0

Seems like problem is already well known and we need extra "utf8" option. See URL for details.
Mandriva patch: http://svn.mandriva.com/cgi-bin/viewvc.cgi/packages/cooker/gnome-mount/current/SOURCES/gnome-mount-0.8-utf8.patch?revision=284994
Arch patches: http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/7549?getfile=1888 (tested) or http://bugs.archlinux.org/task/7549
Ubuntu: https://launchpadlibrarian.net/26064764/gnome-mount_0.8-2ubuntu1.diff.gz (ubuntu-default-mount-options.patch). They seem to add utf8 option for a few more filesystems..

Reproducible: Always
