This happens independent of CXXFLAGS, but not with gcc2.

Portage 2.0.49-r3 (default-x86-1.4, gcc-3.2.3, glibc-2.3.2-r1)
openmotif-2.1.30

Sorry, forgot to give the ddd version, and at the same time
3.3.7 entered the tree... the above problem only shows up
in 3.3.1* if compiled with >=gcc-3.* (altough technically it
should also affect gcc-2.95.3). I don't know if there are
reasons not to unmask 3.3.7 --

please reassign because i don't know much about ddd at all.

Might be an change in libstdc++. I have no clue as to who this belongs to,
but guess it will be devel side (we got another group than gcc-porting) ?

Anyhow, fixed in -r3. I did not bump the revision, as its not major (my
opinion), and 3.3.7 will anyhow catch ~. If anybody can, please test for
gcc-2.95.3.
