Description David 2010-01-12 06:59:02 UTC
This is for OpenOffice (go-oo), not openoffice-bin.

After installation of version 3.1.1 (after previously having openoffice-bin installed), running "oowriter" (or any of the other oo* programs) results in a crash with messages "glibc detected" and "invalid pointer."
oowriter did start normally ONCE before this crash & error message started occurring. When it started that time, it found updated extensions, I gave the OK to install them, and it crashed during the install. Now it has the above-mentioned crash/error every time I run a oo* program.

After Google'ing, I saw a recommendation to remove the ~/.ooo3 directory, so I renamed it and re-ran oowriter. Now oowriter displays the OpenOffice splash screen but instantly dies after that, with an exit status of zero (0).

Also, running revdep-rebuild results in...

Looks like ebuild bug we had in openoffice ebuild.

Please try to migrate to libreoffice and open new bug if the issue is still present.
