Description Simeon Maryasin 2010-01-05 00:45:07 UTC
This service is needed to use Intel WiMAX cards.
There is a ebuild for it in pentoo overlay (layman -a pentoo), but it didn't compile on my system (2.6.32 kernel).

net-wireless/intel-wimax-network-service-1.4.0.ebuild

This ebuild includes optional support for Yota/Scartel (Russian WiMAX provider), triggered by 'yota' use-flag.
I know it is ugly, but don't know other way to implement it: networks are choosen according to /usr/share/wimax/NDnSAgentConfig_forDriver.xml and /usr/share/wimax/NDnSAgentDefaultConfig.xml, which are hard for user to override manually as they will be overwriten on rebuild/update...

It depends on net-wireless/intel-wimax-binary-supplicant, which can be found in 'pentoo' overlay: http://trac.pentoo.ch/wiki/Portage

Also, you will need a firmware; see bug 266893.

Maybe selection of operator/provider can be implemented with eselect?
( eselect wimax-provider set {clear.com|yota.ru|...} )
