Here's a really weird one that I can't explain: The first build of any new version of binutils on IRIX *always* results in libtool stubs being installed instead of binaries to $EPREFIX/usr/mips-sgi-irix6.5/binutils-bin/${PV} - but subsequent rebuilds of the same version result in the correct binaries being installed. I'm assuming that this isn't a prefix- or IRIX-specific problem, because I was trying to diagnose a problem with php on an x86 server, and found that libedit had installed a stub libtool library instead of a valid shared-object... and this was stock non-prefix portage! Is there any way to further diagnose/debug these occurances? I've noticed this now for at least the past 3 binutils package versions...
