At the bottom of the current install doc [http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/gentoo-
x86-install.xml], it instructs users with an ata raid controller to mount the 
devicetree into the new environment before chrooting [mount -o 
bind /dev /mnt/gentoo/dev].
When I follow these directions, the bootstrap fails will an errorcode 13, 
access denied trying to write a file .keep# to the /dev/pts folder.

I tried not following that step, and the bootstrap succeeded, but I do not 
know if the entire system is valid or not. Too much of a Gentoo and Linux 
newb. :/

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Installed Gentoo Linux on an Athlon 1200 KT7A-RAID motherboard with a RAID-
1 configured.
2. Followed the step described above to mount /dev into the new environment 
before chrooting
3. Ran bootstrap.sh

Actual Results:  
Received the above described access denied error.


I will add a follow-up once I get a feeling for the validity of the new 
install I did without following that step.  It is doing an 'emerge system' 
right now.
