Description joachim Langenbach 2009-12-23 00:33:12 UTC
A musicbrain useflag would be nice, so that the optional package dependency for musicbrainz is solved and that the user knows, that this package supports musicbrainz. This problem is not only concerned musicbrainz and kdemultimedia-kioslaves, but a general problem of many kde4 ebuilds. During configuration, there are many messages, that some optional packages couldn't be found or be found, but this dependencies are not handled with portage and the existence of the supported features are not carried to the user via use-flags.

So it would be very nice, if this changes with some of the next kde4 releases.

We split those packages, so most of the warnings you see are not relevant for package you are building.

So the musicbrainz extension isn't used by kdemultimedia-kioslaves?

Yup that is what i mean.
Take look onto kde-multimedia-4.3.4.tar.bz2. Go to the kioslave folder and look into each CMakeLists.txt. There would be some usage of musicbranz required to be actualy used for the ioslaves.

Closing as INVALID, if you can pinpoint a reason why, then reopen
