this can be worked around by changing the configure.in: +sinclude(ac_python_devel.m4) if test "$with_python" = "yes"; then - sinclude(ac_python_devel.m4) AC_PYTHON_DEVEL fi nm, i'm retarded. the autotool cached confused me. in the ac_python_devel.m4 file, you'll find an AC_MSG_ERROR that ends with: ])dnl delete the dnl and it should work (In reply to comment #3) > nm, i'm retarded. the autotool cached confused me. > > in the ac_python_devel.m4 file, you'll find an AC_MSG_ERROR that ends with: > ])dnl > > delete the dnl and it should work > this works for me: emerge -av =sys-devel/autoconf-2.63-r1 lcd4linux as suggested by Mike Hunt here: http://forums.gentoo.org/viewtopic-t-809890.html Tested to be working with both 2.63 and 2.65.
