BTW, [1] redirects to [2] which redirects to [3], with both of the former being listed in HOMEPAGE and not the latter. 8-) According to the ebuilds, you should set USE=fuse to get the owfs executable, which is also explained on the website[4]. This is already adequately explained in the USE flag description: sys-fs/owfs:fuse - Enable building the FUSE-based OWFS client (owfs) but I will leave this to the maintainer's disgression to (in)validate.
