Description Kilian 2009-12-10 23:03:12 UTC
I have app-crypt/pinentry-0.7.6[ncurses,qt4] installed with app-crypt/gnupg-2.0.11 thunderbird-3.0 and enigmail-1.0.0

I can't do any action (e.g. decrypt an encrypted mail) that needs a private key wich is protected with a password over gpg, because gnupg and enigmail (i guess over gnupg) both fail to call the right binary.

The Problem is solved when I simply create a soft link /usr/bin/pinentry-qt -> /usr/bin/pinentry-qt4

Reproducible: Always

The soft links is installed with pinentry-qt package:

$ equery belongs /usr/bin/pinentry
[ Searching for file(s) /usr/bin/pinentry in *... ]
app-crypt/pinentry-0.7.6 (/usr/bin/pinentry -> pinentry-qt4)

Try to remerge pinentry-qt

I haven't created the soft link manually.

Do you use gpg-agent ? If yes, you should check ~/.gnupg/gpg-agent.conf for "pinentry-program" value.
