Description Johannes Rauh 2009-12-03 22:57:38 UTC
emerge singular fails with the following message, as soon as one of the flags -floop-interchange -floop-strip-mine -floop-block is set in make.conf.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Add "-floop-interchange -floop-strip-mine -floop-block" to CFLAGS in /etc/make.conf
2. emerge =sci-mathematics/singular-3.1.0.7

Actual Results:
The exact error message is:

shortfl.cc:321: interner Compiler-Fehler: Speicherzugriffsfehler
Bitte senden Sie einen vollständigen Fehlerbericht auf Englisch ein;

Sorry for the German locale. The first line says: "internal compiler error: memory access error". The last line says: "Follow the hints at <http://bugs.gentoo.org/>" - that's why I'm here.

Expected Results:
Singular compiles.

This happens with sys-devel/gcc-4.4.1 and sys-devel/gcc-4.4.2.

Workaround: Remove the flags from make.conf before emerging singular.

Comment 4 Mark Loeser (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2010-03-04 20:50:53 UTC
Lots of graphite bugs have been fixed in GCC 4.5 and won't be backported to 4.4. Marking as WONTFIX.
