remove offending symlink
/usr/bin/ebb is just symlink to dvipdfmx, thus may be safely omitted from installation.
*** Bug 296876 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. *** found some fun info :
first, I had two versions of Kile (kde latex editor) installed (2.0.3-r1 and 2.1_beta3).
second, the only package needing dvipdfm in my system was media-video/dirac.
unsetting the doc useflag, dvipdfm is no longer required for dirac.
so, I added
> media-video/dirac -doc
into /etc/portage/package.use, unmerged both versions of kile, dvipdfm, dvipdfmx to make sure, and then just re-emerged kile (with deps).
so, for me, this issue is resolved.
should maybe inform dirac maintainer (or upstream) to stop using dvipdfm in favor of dvipdfmx ?
