Description Chris Mayo 2009-11-24 21:12:15 UTC
pulseaudio unmutes IEC958 Optical every time it is started which has the effect of muting analogue output from SB Audigy2 Value.

(I have onboard Intel hda sound + SB Audigy PCI card).

Attached is a patch to analog-output.conf.common taken from:
 pulseaudio-0.9.20/debian/patches/0054-mute-iec958-optical-raw-for-audigyX.patch

which fixes this for me with pulseaudio-0.9.20 and pulseaudio-0.9.21

Could you please submit this patch upstream asap so we can try to get this in before 0.9.23 goes out?

I am not using that card any more, and better still have removed PulseAudio.

It does seem like it was reported as part of:
http://www.pulseaudio.org/ticket/699

but that just got the response:

'PA does not fiddle with "S/PDIF Optical Raw"'
