The adaptec raid 52445 is not supported in the gentoo-livecd install-x86-minimal-20091103.iso. 

Because of the raid kernel source code can be downloaded from adaptec's web (http://www.adaptec.com/en-US/support/raid/sas_raid/SAS-52445/index.htm), we tried to make a gentoo-livecd including it, but unsuccessfully because of unionfs stuff.

Please, let us know how we can get a gentoo-livecd which detects the raid 524445. Many thanks in advanced.

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a raid and afterworks start with the gentoo-livecd.
2. The gentoo livecd does not detect the raid, but the hard disks one by one.

Kernel drivers for adaptec raid controllers won't give you an array but as you said every single disk (pseudo raid). Probably CANTFIX, because there's nothing we can do, but let release maintainers decide.

What is needed to support this RAID card? Just enabling it in the kernel specs or are there any firmware requirements as well?
