Hello,

I just downloaded the LiveCD (ISO) of version 1.4_rc4

If you are using a serial console, please append serial to the end of your
boot option (e.g. "gentoo serial") for proper serial console support.

Please report any bugs you find to http://bugs.gentoo.org and assign them
to the Sparc team.

Did you try using the latest LiveCD at http://distro.ibiblio.org/pub/linux/distributions/gentoo/experimental/sparc/livecd/sparc/gentoo-sparc-1.4_rc4-18Aug2003.iso.bz2 ?
Comment 2 Sven Blumenstein (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-22 13:38:13 UTC
Forget the last comment. Just got told that the old Sparcstations dont work with 2.4.x Kernels.

I am not sure if its possible to get a 2.2.x Kernel working on the LiveCD.
Maybe netboot or first installing Debian would be a solution...
Comment 3 Jason Wever (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2003-09-25 17:36:22 UTC
Currently, the 2.4 kernels do not have working support for the sun4c cpus.
Your best bet would be as Sven indicated and try one of the Debian netboot
images to see if they work for you.
