Description Johann Schmitz (ercpe) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-11-16 22:01:23 UTC
sys-devel/gcc-4.3.4 and sys-devel/gcc-4.4.2 (no other tested) failed to compile with a seg fault after hardware upgrade during rebuilding the system with new CFLAGS.

Sometimes its not a segmentation fault but an other error (i will try to catch it next time).
I have already tried to reduce the CFLAGS to "-march=core2 -O2 -pipe" and without special LDFLAGS - without success.

Reproducible: Always

I would think it is because of faulty hardware. Please test that, and report back if it segf again.
Comment 4 Johann Schmitz (ercpe) (RETIRED) gentoo-dev 2009-11-18 08:44:01 UTC
Ok, it seems i've hit a faulty RAM module. After testing and the removing the module, gcc compiles fine.

I think the bug can be closed or marked as a dup of the general seg fault bug.
