The shell scripts /etc/init.d/halt.sh and /etc/init.d/switch both reference a
missing bash function 'checkserver' which is supposed to have been defined in
/sbin/functions.sh.

This causes an error during system shutdown or reboot.

switch you can delete. Please update halt.sh to latest version.
