2. If your application has a replacement -> Add it to portage.
3. After checking 1. and 2. -> Mask the application, and open STABLEREQ as

As of mid-July 2009 new KFlog 2.2.0 is out. But since this version is also KDE3, does it make sense to request a version bump?

Although I would really like to request a version bump.

The author is planning on removing all the KDE dependency and make KFlog a clean Qt4 application.

Meanwhile, I'd prefer to keep it around. But since my time is *very* limited at the moment, I cannot provide ebuild work. Sorry.

There is also a Qt4 based daily-snapshot around.

No...

...but a ebuild request for the snapshot is fine, I'm converting this bug to one.

We are quite understaffed to handle daily or even weekly snapshots. If you care to create an ebuild an proxy maintain it I would be glad to assist you

Okay, I'll try to make one as soon as I can, and contact you then for your help with it. My sparetime is currently quite limited, and writing ebuilds takes a lot of time for me (as I remember from my past experiences) so it is likely to take a while for me before I can get to it.

Anyway, thanks for not dropping this requist right away, I really appreciate it that you try hard and for your understanding. I know that my contributions here are not professional since I only _use_ Gentoo Linux, and because I cannot really write good code I sometimes cause more work for the developers (teams) than if I really knew what I was doing.

So, thanks.
Andreas.

Still no ebuild here, or upstream release for Qt4, the HOMEPAGE ships with KDE3 version. I'm not also intrested in keeping this no more open.

Okay. I agree.
Sorry for the inconvenience.
