The ebuild attempts to fetch `glibc-2.11-patches-2.tar.bz2` which is not available on any of the mirrors.

Mike apparently you forgot to update this patch on mirrors :) (may be I'm wrong but unable to find it on gentoo.osul.org or others famious mirrors)

404: Not Found on 21 mirrors.

Looks like it's working again, at least for me. Last time I tried to emerge --fetch-only, the file has been successfully fetched from http://dev.gentoo.org/~vapier/dist/.
