What version of Openoffice is this happening with? (In reply to comment #1) > What version of Openoffice is this happening with? > Thanks for your answer, it's 3.1.1 version. Please, could you told me if next future I could drop java useflag and openoffice wizards will work? I prefer don't wastting space in my system with HSQLDB and Java. Thanks a lot. I find this quite difficult to reproduce, so: Does this only happen with hsql databases or also other types? Also: Why do you want to use it, if you don't want to have it on your system, I don't quite get that part. About running without java: Some wizards will work, some not, see: http://wiki.services.openoffice.org/wiki/Java_and_OpenOffice.org for more information. The java-based hsqldb obviously won't work ;-) Could you please also provide the ooo-build-version that is listed in the about-dialog? >I find this quite difficult to reproduce, so: Does this only happen with hsql databases or also other types? I'm doing a course of oobase which require java (for wizards) I found a couple of things didn't working as expected. >Could you please also provide the ooo-build-version that is listed in the about-dialog? Sure, OpenOffice.org 3.1.1 OOO310m19 (Build:9420) ...blah blah... Build 3.1.1.2 Further questions: *) Which jvm are you using? Is it set in the preferences? *) Did you try with openoffice-bin? You also could try to rebuild OOo 3.1.1 (to get the latest used ooo-build which is 3.1.1.4) though I don't see related fixes from a quick glance at the ChangeLog :-/ >*) Which jvm are you using? Is it set in the preferences? Yes it's set in preferences and version is dev-java/sun-jdk-1.6.0.17 (currenly) >*) Did you try with openoffice-bin? I didn't try Ooo-bin, I'm using (pacefully) ooBase on knoppix; only for a while! :) >You also could try to rebuild OOo 3.1.1 I'm thinking on rebuild world because I'm using my system time ago and having trouble with another packages not correctly merged (no idea about why :?) Please this is packages I merged for OOo with useflags, could you told me if you see any missing useflags or incorrect build order? *) First time I build OOo (without java): [ebuild U ] perl-core/Compress-Raw-Zlib-2.020 [2.015] USE="-test" 208 kB [ebuild N ] perl-core/Compress-Raw-Bzip2-2.020 USE="-test" 142 kB [ebuild U ] virtual/perl-Compress-Raw-Zlib-2.020 [2.015] 0 kB [ebuild N ] virtual/perl-Compress-Raw-Bzip2-2.020 0 kB [ebuild N ] perl-core/IO-Compress-2.020 200 kB [ebuild N ] virtual/perl-IO-Compress-2.020 0 kB [ebuild R ] app-office/openoffice-3.0.0 USE="cups dbus eds gnome gstreamer* mono odk opengl templates* -binfilter -debug -gtk -java -kde -ldap -nsplugin -pam" *) Next time I add java to OOo and java6 to dev-db/hsqldb and upgrade: [ebuild N ] dev-java/java-config-wrapper-0.16 8 kB [ebuild N ] dev-python/pyxml-0.8.4-r2 USE="-doc -examples" 718 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/java-config-2.1.8-r1 56 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/javatoolkit-0.3.0-r3 17 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/sun-jdk-1.6.0.15 USE="alsa -X -derby -doc -examples -jce -nsplugin -odbc" 79,903 kB [ebuild N ] virtual/jdk-1.6.0 0 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/ant-core-1.7.1-r4 USE="-doc -source" 6,828 kB [ebuild N ] virtual/jre-1.6.0 0 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/rhino-1.5.5-r4 USE="-doc -source" 1,506 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/lucene-analyzers-2.3.2 USE="-source" 4,495 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/servletapi-2.4-r5 USE="-doc -source" 4,684 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/libreadline-java-0.8.0-r2 USE="-doc -source" 76 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/tomcat-servlet-api-4.1.36 USE="-doc -source" 3,629 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/ant-nodeps-1.7.1 0 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/junit-3.8.2-r1 USE="-doc -source" 451 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/bsh-2.0_beta4-r3 USE="readline -bsf -doc -source" 1,628 kB [ebuild N ] java-virtuals/servlet-api-2.3 0 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/javacc-4.0-r4 USE="-doc -examples -source -test" 748 kB [ebuild N ] dev-java/lucene-2.3.2 USE="-doc -source -test" 0 kB [ebuild N ] dev-db/hsqldb-1.8.0.10 USE="-doc java6 -source -test" 3,437 kB [ebuild U ] app-office/openoffice-3.1.1 [3.0.0] USE="cups dbus eds gnome gstreamer java* mono odk opengl templates (-aqua) -bash-completion% -binfilter -debug -gtk (-kde) -ldap -nsplugin -pam" I have upgraded that packages few days ago but no success :( Thanks a lot for your support. >You also could try to rebuild OOo 3.1.1 (to get the latest used ooo-build which
is 3.1.1.4) though I don't see related fixes from a quick glance at the
ChangeLog :-/
I have rebuilt 3.1.1.4 version with: emerge -evaDN openoffice without sucess. Wizard refuses to work :(
No idea why knoppix version (older) work and newer won't :S
Please, anybody was able to reproduce reported wizard behavior?
Thanks for replies.
I finally switch to bin (happily) Thanks all Not really possible to reproduce anymore and as we plan to move people over to libreoffice anyway... closing. |
