All ready in the x11 overlay 7.6 is severely broken on Intel chips, we're waiting for 7.6.1 before moving it to portage. Just make it block against xf86-video-intel, or is there any other problem? This is becoming a pain for radeon users, and you can expect a lot more noise now that linux 2.6.32 is out. (In reply to comment #5) > Isn't that why we implemented blockers? Blockers are meant for packages which install files that are incompatible. Using blockers for botched releases is IMHO a QA violation. > Just make it block against xf86-video-intel, or is there any other problem? > This is becoming a pain for radeon users, and you can expect a lot more noise > now that linux 2.6.32 is out. I know for a fact that 7.6 breaks all Intel chips out there, but it might break other chips as well. Given that Intel is supposed to be the best supported chip in Mesa, it doesn't bode very well for Mesa as a whole. Now that 7.6.1 is getting RCs, maybe we'll start putting them in portage soon. Feel free to grab them from the x11 overlay to test them out. Thanks |
