Oh, I am using Xorg tdanotebook ~ # equery list xorg [ Searching for package 'xorg' in all categories among: ] * installed packages [I--] [M ] app-doc/xorg-docs-1.4-r1 (0) [I--] [ ] x11-base/xorg-drivers-1.6 (0) [I--] [ ] x11-base/xorg-server-1.6.3.901-r2 (0) [I--] [ ] x11-base/xorg-x11-7.4-r1 (0) As you've mentioned those specific keys, I suspect it's a configuration problem. While bugzilla is NOT a support forum, you can attach your xorg log and post your input setting (real settings, not what you think they are - check your hal settings straight from the deamon and see, if your desktop environment is overriding them). Hi have the same problem. I have the same problem and I've solved reverting to =x11-drivers/xf86-input-evdev-2.1.3 so I really think this is a bug.. otherwise could you explain why this is happening? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. upgrade to evdev 2.2.5 (2.2.x I believe really) 2. auto repeat does not work on some keys 3. downgrade to evdev 2.1.3 4. auto repeat is working again emerge --infoPortage 2.2_rc33 (default/linux/x86/10.0, gcc-4.3.4, glibc-2.9_p20081201-r2, 2.6.28-gentoo-r3tha1 i686) ================================================================= System uname: Linux-2.6.28-gentoo-r3tha1-i686-Intel-R-_Core-TM-2_Duo_CPU_T7300_@_2.00GHz-with-gentoo-1.12.13 Timestamp of tree: Sun, 29 Nov 2009 21:45:02 +0000 distcc[20034] (dcc_trace_version) distcc 3.1 i686-pc-linux-gnu; built May 21 2009 17:40:00 [disabled] ccache version 2.4 [disabled] app-shells/bash: 4.0_p28 dev-java/java-config: 2.1.9-r1 dev-lang/python: 2.5.4-r3, 2.6.4, 3.1.1-r1 dev-python/pycrypto: 2.0.1-r8 dev-util/ccache: 2.4-r7 dev-util/cmake: 2.6.4-r3 sys-apps/baselayout: 1.12.13 sys-apps/sandbox: 1.6-r2 sys-devel/autoconf: 2.13, 2.63-r1 sys-devel/automake: 1.5, 1.7.9-r1, 1.9.6-r2, 1.10.2 sys-devel/binutils: 2.18-r3 sys-devel/gcc-config: 1.4.1 sys-devel/libtool: 2.2.6a virtual/os-headers: 2.6.27-r2 ACCEPT_KEYWORDS="x86" CBUILD="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CFLAGS="-O3 -march=prescott -pipe" CHOST="i686-pc-linux-gnu" CONFIG_PROTECT="/etc" CONFIG_PROTECT_MASK="/etc/ca-certificates.conf /etc/env.d /etc/env.d/java/ /etc/fonts/fonts.conf /etc/gconf /etc/revdep-rebuild /etc/sandbox.d /etc/terminfo /etc/texmf/language.dat.d /etc/texmf/language.def.d /etc/texmf/updmap.d /etc/texmf/web2c /etc/udev/rules.d" CXXFLAGS="-O3 -march=prescott -pipe" DISTDIR="/usr/portage/distfiles" FEATURES="distlocks fixpackages parallel-fetch preserve-libs protect-owned sandbox sfperms strict unmerge-orphans userfetch" GENTOO_MIRRORS="http://mirror.switch.ch/ftp/mirror/gentoo/" LDFLAGS="-Wl,-O1" LINGUAS="en" MAKEOPTS="-j3" PKGDIR="/usr/portage/packages" PORTAGE_CONFIGROOT="/" PORTAGE_RSYNC_OPTS="--recursive --links --safe-links --perms --times --compress --force --whole-file --delete --stats --timeout=180 --exclude=/distfiles --exclude=/local --exclude=/packages" PORTAGE_TMPDIR="/var/tmp" PORTDIR="/usr/portage" PORTDIR_OVERLAY="/usr/portage/local/layman/desktop-effects /usr/portage/local/layman/jokey /usr/portage/local/layman/mozilla /usr/portage/local/layman/sunrise /usr/portage/local/layman/xfce-dev /usr/portage/local/layman/kde-testing /usr/local/portage" SYNC="rsync://rsync.europe.gentoo.org/gentoo-portage" USE="X acl acpi alsa avahi bash-completion berkdb bzip2 cdr cli cracklib crypt cups dbus dri dvd dvdr fortran gdbm gif glitz gnutls gpm gtk hal iconv ipv6 jpeg mmx modules mudflap ncurses nls nptl nptlonly opengl openmp pam pcre pdf perl png pppd python readline reflection ruby samba see3 session spl sse sse2 ssl svg sysfs tcpd tetex threads tiff tk unicode usb x86 xcb xinerama xorg zlib" ALSA_CARDS="hda-intel" ALSA_PCM_PLUGINS="adpcm alaw asym copy dmix dshare dsnoop empty extplug file hooks iec958 ioplug ladspa lfloat linear meter mmap_emul mulaw multi null plug rate route share shm softvol" APACHE2_MODULES="actions alias auth_basic authn_alias authn_anon authn_dbm authn_default authn_file authz_dbm authz_default authz_groupfile authz_host authz_owner authz_user autoindex cache dav dav_fs dav_lock deflate dir disk_cache env expires ext_filter file_cache filter headers include info log_config logio mem_cache mime mime_magic negotiation rewrite setenvif speling status unique_id userdir usertrack vhost_alias" ELIBC="glibc" INPUT_DEVICES="evdev" KERNEL="linux" LCD_DEVICES="bayrad cfontz cfontz633 glk hd44780 lb216 lcdm001 mtxorb ncurses text" LINGUAS="en" USERLAND="GNU" VIDEO_CARDS="nvidia vesa nv" Unset: CPPFLAGS, CTARGET, EMERGE_DEFAULT_OPTS, FFLAGS, INSTALL_MASK, LANG, LC_ALL, PORTAGE_COMPRESS, PORTAGE_COMPRESS_FLAGS, PORTAGE_RSYNC_EXTRA_OPTS Some of you people just don't get it... ...your configuration is broken.
