The xorg-x11 metapackage isn't designed to be a "minimal working setup". If you emerge xorg-x11, you're asking for the full xorg setup, including all the optional bits. If you want a minimal setup, you should just use xorg-server (or nothing specific at all and just let it be pulled in as a dependency). If you just want xorg-server, then just emerge that. xorg-x11 is supposed to reflect X.org "katamari" releases, ie the full release. So no, that won't change. Thanks |
