(In reply to comment #0) [..] > virtualbox-ose should be installed into /usr/lib64/virtualbox or VBOX_APP_HOME > should be set or libvirt should search for VBoxXPCOMC.so in > /usr/lib64/virtualbox-ose Hi, please note that: - in app-emulation/virtualbox-ose VBoxXPCOMC.so is located under /usr/$(libdir)/virtualbox-ose/ - in app-emulation/virtualbox-bi VBoxXPCOMC.so is located under /opt/VirtualBox/ So there is no need imho to change the destination dir for virtualbox-ose, the problem should be solved on the libvirt's detection code/strategy. (maybe an upstream bug should be filed if not any) Alessio what about setting the environment variable in env.d? Would sincerely be nice :) (In reply to comment #2) > Alessio what about setting the environment variable in env.d? Would sincerely > be nice :) > since virtualbox-ose and virtualbox-bin cannot be installed at the same time, this can be a nice solution, thanks :) Can the virtualbox-{bin,ose} ebuilds add this environment variable setting file? It'd be irresponsible for libvirt to do it. I'll look into this when I have some spare time This has already been fixed in >=virtualbox-{bin,ose}-3.1.8 |
