nvidia drivers for older cards (such as Quadro FX1300) block xorg-server 1.7 release, which has now made it into ~x86.

There does not appear to be an obvious reason for this - or is there?

<x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers-190.42 don't work with x11-base/xorg-server-1.7.1.

I'll leave this bug open to prevent more duplicates.

Fixed in 190.42-r1

This bug was specifically open for nvidia-drivers-173.14.20, which cater for older hardware, such as Quadro FX1300

This version is not fixed, so reopening bug and restoring original summary.

The 71.86.x series will not be seeing any further Xorg ABI updates. However, 96.43, and 173.14 will, but it will take some time. NVIDIA does not have a date when that support will happen.
