There were errors in the path segment of the ftp download URI. see build.log.
 

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -av1 -1 net-libs/libsoup-gnome

Actual Results:

Expected Results:  
clean emerge

cd /usr/portage/distfiles && wget ftp://ftp.gnome.org/pub/gnome/sources/libsoup/2.28/libsoup-2.28.1.tar.bz2
solves the problem.

@mrpouet: instead of redefining SRC_URI, you'll want to just do SRC_URI=${SRC_URI//-gnome/} (to convert all libsoup-gnome to libsoup)

This way, even if we have to change the gnome mirror format (due to upstream changes); we won't need to edit the ebuild.

Check logs (from the overlay)...
I did not bump libsoup-2.28.1 or libsoup-gnome-2.28.1... and the previous version worked fine...
