Maybe enable logging through /etc/rc.conf and inspect /var/log/rc.log? I do have issues in bug #289323, btw. I'm guessing you have the new network init script enabled. If you are using the old style network scripts, make sure you do not have a service called "network" installed in any runlevels. Once you check that, let me know if this is still an issue with openrc-0.5.2-r1. Thanks much. William I am closing this due to no response from the reporter.
