Description Robert Golding 2009-10-10 17:36:26 UTC
The setup for /etc/conf.d/net has changed to a bash style.Code Listing 2.6
From "Code Listing 2.6" to "Code Listing 2.7" the additional bracket '(' and space around the parameters are not supposed to be there, i.e.
<routes_eth0=( "default via 192.168.0.1" )> should be
<routes_eth0="default via 192.168.0.1">.
On my system it took me awhile to figure out why my network wouldn't come up.

Reproducible: Always

This is only the case for OpenRC:

http://www.gentoo.org/doc/en/openrc-migration.xml#doc_chap2_sect6

We will not be updating the rest of the Gentoo documentation until OpenRC/baselayout2 has been marked stable, as we don't cover ~arch packages.
