Bug 288456 – dev-db/libdbi-drivers should depend on virtual/postgresql-base

dev-db/libdbi-drivers (all versions currently in portage) depend on virtual/postgresql-server, but they *should* depend on virtual/postgresql-base

According to the official website, "The libdbi drivers do not have external library dependencies except libdbi itself and the client library of their respective database engines."

Depending on virtual/postgresql-server causes this package to pull in a completely unnecessary package on systems (like mine) which do not have a postgresql server installed.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. emerge -av dev-db/libdbi-drivers
2. Note that package pulls virtual/postgresql-server
3. Fail

Actual Results:  
dev-db/libdbi-drivers depends on virtual/postgresql-server

Expected Results:  
dev-db/libdbi-drivers should depend on virtual/postgresql-base

Pinging. What is the status here?

It's been two weeks and no one has so much as replied. Looking at bugzilla it looks like [e-mail] has a number of rather old bugs assigned to him/her. One of these bugs is 10 months old and has not received any attention. Please see the list of bugs (below).

It seems like this bug (and perhaps those others) needs to be assigned to someone who will actually do something about getting them fixed.

In the case of this bug, the fix is an EXTREMELY EASY and EXTREMELY OBVIOUS one-liner fix. I would fix it if I had CVS access, but obviously I do not.

dev-zero:
you were responsible for the change that the user is complaining about. This bug should have been assigned to you in the first place. As you were doing the postgres split, and I barely touch postgres, I'll defer to you on what the correct action it.
