Todays version of bittorent is 6.2 or even 6.3. Bug 283877 is now old and could be left unsolved and be closed due to that.
Anyway there doesen't seem to be any .tar.gz verions of the newer software, anymore. See http://download.bittorrent.com/dl/ for that.

Hrm. I don't think that the GPL'd client has been updated since 5.3:

There doesn't appear to be even a "Free to download" version for Linux. I'm happy to be corrected, though. :)

So than lets mark it as dub. to Bug 283877 . Also the license and the homepage should be altered then.
