Description Matt Turner gentoo-dev 2009-10-08 03:31:05 UTC
icc should be slotted. I guess we really need an eselect-icc plugin or something to do this properly.

Assigned to bicatali@gentoo.org as he suggested it in another bug.

It is work involved and I don't know if I care enough about Intel software to have time to invest.

If anyone interested, dev-lang/icc, dev-lang/ifc, dev-lang/idb, sci-libs/mkl, sci-libs/ipp and may be dev-cpp/tbb would have to be slotted simultaneously with probably a common eselect mechanism.

stupid idea in my opinion.

Uh, thanks?

gcc is slotted, why shouldn't icc also be? Plus, with the mess that is icc-11's C++, being able to slot this would help.

Do you have anything to contribute or are you just a troll?

Where is the benefit from it?
