I've installed this meta-package (and all of its dependencies) without any issue on Snow Leopard.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Steps to Reproduce:
1. ecopy the package and all dependencies 
2. emerge games-misc/fortune-mod-all
3. run `fortune -f' to get a list of all installed data packs

Actual Results:  
It works.
