gucharmap is included in >=gnome-utils-2.3, meaning that it no longer requires the separate gucharmap package. To be more exact, gucharmap replaces the <gnome-utils-2.3 character picker. They share a symlink, so the easy solution is just blocking the old gnome-utils. |
why it blocks gnome-utils-2.3 or older? I tried to find the reason in Changelogs, forum and bugzilla, but I cant find it. I can missed it, so if you know where is the reason tell me where it is, or please explain why. I dont like see 'B' chracter in emerge -up blahblah, and it is not comfortable. so I think requiring newer version of gnome-utils is better than block older version of it. like , >=gnome-extra/gnome-utils-2.3 thanks.
