/dev/ttyACM0 does not work with gentoo-sources-2.6.31. A patch can be found under http://www.spinics.net/lists/linux-usb/msg22102.html . It would be very nice if this patch could make it into 2.6.31-r1.

I can confirm that the patch from the link works on a thinkpad t400.

This is included inlinux-2.6.31.2 and is released in gentoo-sources-2.6.31-r2
