I only just committed this, but the changes compared with -r3 are minimal, and we really need to move away from the ancient but stable 0.7-r2 now, so please test (careful with overclocking - maybe test underclocking instead) and mark stable

ppc stable, bug fixed
(there is even a warning when used on a laptop :))
