Summary: i want portage to do Message displaying at the end of compiling
Product: Portage Development Reporter: Benjamin Schulz <schulz.benjamin>
Component: Enhancement/Feature RequestsAssignee: Portage team <dev-portage>
Status: RESOLVED DUPLICATE
Severity: enhancement
Priority: High
Version: 2.0
Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Whiteboard:
Package list:
Runtime testing required: ---

Description Benjamin Schulz 2003-09-10 15:53:22 UTC
When installing some packages (like kde or k3b) at the end of an emerge, some
messages are shown like

 * The k3b setup program will offer to change some permissions and
 * create a user group. These changes are not necessary. We recommend
 * that you clear the two check boxes that let k3b make changes for
 * cdrecord and cdrdao and let k3b make changes for the devices when
 * running k3b setup.

When I'm emerging many large packages, I usually take a cup of caffee and
therefore can't see this messages.

When I'm returning back, I don't want to search the logfile.

Can it be made possible, that, when emerging many packages (What usually is the
case) portage again posts these messages at the end of the installprocess of all
packages?

This would give me perhaps some necessary information, about what I should
configure before using an app.

Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1.emerge manypackages
2.drink caffe
3.
