Hi, 

When doing some license "research" (I wanted to see if all my installed programs were fsf approved) I saw that the MIT license is not listed as gpl-compatible in /usr/portage/profile/license_groups but only as osi-approved. 

The fsf site lists it as gpl-compatible, though, but also states that it should be called X11 license.

So, either the packages which claim an MIT license should claim "X11" instead, or the MIT license should be put into the GPL-COMPATIBLE line in license_groups. 

(that file is extremely useful, by the way!)
