Bug 283237 – app-admin/eselect-opengl doesn't select right libGL.so.1 with nvidia-drivers

Direct Rendering wasn't working. /usr/lib64/xorg/libGL.so.1 was a real library instead of a symlink to nvidia's one.


Reproducible: Sometimes

Steps to Reproduce:
~ # ldd $(which glxinfo)
.......        libGL.so.1 => /usr/lib64/xorg/libGL.so.1 (0x00007f57c7ac6000) ..........
replacing this library with a link to ../opengl/nvidia/lib/libGL.so
solved the problem.
Before, I've tried with eselect opengl with no luck. Also switching to xorg-x11 implementation and then back to nvidia's.
A user on the forum had a similar problem, but only for users and not for root. My solution worked for him.

please attach the ouput of 

emerge -vp app-admin/eselect app-admin/eselect-opengl x11-drivers/nvidia-drivers

and 

emerge --info

Normally, broken eselect opengl is a consequence of installing the proprietary drivers outside portage.

I've NEVER installed nvidia-drivers manually.

Unlikely that this is a problem of the eselect core, so removing [e-mail] from CC.

Already fixed, just sync the tree in 30 minutes and reemerge the eselect-opengl, i accidentaly uploaded wrong tarball on server.

Ok so as i stated in comment 8, please try to use eselect-opengl-1.0.8 and get back to us by telling us if it select rigth libGL.so.1. When you test it just reopen the bug.
