Due to the commit in URL, dev-tex/luatex and dev-tex/pdftex no longer build with poppler. They need to get converted to using getPDFMajorVersion and getPDFMinorVersion. Poppler-0.12.0 is due out on September 12th.

Excerpt from a build log (both fail on the same piece of shared code):

luatexdir/image/pdftoepdf.cc:723: error: 'class PDFDoc' has no member named 'getPDFVersion'

fixed in pdftex and luatex-0.43.0
