With "stutter", do you mean that mp3 playback is somewhat too fast? That happens sometimes on my system, but after #> mpc toggle #> mpc toggle (pause and then play) the playback works correctly. I also have to add that it only happens just after starting mpd (and is not always reproducable), after that mpd works hours and hours without problems. I'm running media-sound/mpd-0.15.2 on ~amd64. (In reply to comment #1) > With "stutter", do you mean that mp3 playback is somewhat too fast? No, it sounds as mpd skipping some pieces of file one or half second lenght. Pausing and unpausing is not help. If it important I use ncmpcpp for mpd control. Sorry for my poor English I'm reading better than writing on it. You're right, that describes the problem much better. What part of the mpd dependencies is responsible for playing mp3 files? I'm not familiar with media libraries but i want to try rebuilding them. BTW: has anyone experienced this issue with non-mp3 (ogg, flac, ...) files? Does this still reproducible with MPD 0.15.3? (In reply to comment #6) > Does this still reproducible with MPD 0.15.3? > There are no this version in portage yet. (In reply to comment #7) > There are no this version in portage yet. Ebuild for new version would get into portage tree sooner if there's a confirmation of claim that 283521 also closes this one. Citate from mpd site: "MPD version 0.15.3 has been released. Improves update speed and fixes an audio stuttering bug. " 0.15.2 removed, 0.15.3 in tree |
